People around the world are organizing various efforts to secure an area with political sovereignty to implement societies free from the control system of “government.” The largest and most exciting is the Free State Project in New Hampshire.
As they do nearly every year, anti-freedom legislators in New Hampshire have once again proposed numerous bills that would restrict the natural right to self-defense and the natural right to privacy. On February 8th, the House Criminal Justice & Public Safety Committee held a hearing for the bills in Representative Hall due to the large turnout. The majority of people who testified on the bills were pro-freedom and opposed the gun control bills.
Two extremely important bills have been filed by New Hampshire legislators who are dedicated to protecting the natural human right to bear arms. Both bills will have public hearings in the House Criminal Justice & Public Safety Committee on Wednesday, February 8th at 3:15 PM.
Sponsored by five Republicans, five Democrats, and the House Majority Leader, House Bill 639 is an excellent bill, especially compared to the poison-pill-packed House Bill 544. The people of New Hampshire have long called for cannabis legalization, and now they finally have a shot.
Three Democrat legislators have proposed a bill to prohibit “armor piercing ammunition.” As is often the case, the devil is in the details. In this case, the entirety of the new legislation is very short and fairly straightforward.
“A person who operates any motor vehicle on a public way with an animal of any size on their person, or who permits an animal to impede his or her free access to and use of vehicle controls or to obstruct their vision with any animal between the operator and the operators (sic) door is guilty of a violation.”
During the coming week, committees within the New Hampshire House will hold public hearings on numerous bills that could have positive impacts for liberty. Individuals who wish to share their opinions on these bills will have the opportunity to speak to the legislators on the committees during the hearings. Those who cannot attend the hearings may also submit their testimony to the committees online and they could email the committee members.
Despite everyone expecting a huge red wave on Tuesday, by the time the votes were counted, there was nothing more than a purple ripple. Republicans were expected to take majorities in the House and Senate.
